Second Building Information Modelling forum to provide updates on BIM-MEPAUS development and implementation
18th Jul 2011
After the success of last year’s Building Information Modelling (BIM) forum, which set the scene by introducing concepts, this year’s forum will see participants informed of how these concepts are now delivered into actions for industry. A number of updates will be provided, including a status update of the 2011 work program and key demonstrations addressing concepts, issues and challenges to BIM, Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) and supply chain integration.
The forum will once again be hosted by AMCA, at the Melbourne Convention Centre.
BIM is the development of a 3D model of building structure, architecture and services that can be used for services coordination, project programming, cost control and ongoing facilities management and maintenance. The BIM-MEPAUS initiative has been launched with the aim of facilitating the implementation of BIM and IPD within the Australian construction building services sector.
A.G. Coombs’ Warwick Stannus, a prime mover in the development of BIM-MEPAUS, will speak at the forum, providing an overview of the development and the model workflow.
