Funding for Green Buildings

Today Senator Kim Carr (Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science and Research) announced funding for 37 green building projects totalling $16.4m.
This is the third round of the $90 million Green Building Fund which was initiated by the Rudd Government to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions by retro-fitting commercial office buildings.
Over the last 12 months, A.G. Coombs has worked closely with a number of major property owners who have successfully secured funding for projects including:
- A Major Mixed Use Development in Brisbane, involving the upgrade of building management and control systems to incorporate energy efficient control sequences.
- Three Premium Commercial Office Towers in Melbourne involving:
- Replacement and upgrade of HVAC systems
- Installation and upgrade of innovative building controls
- Implementation of building tuning programs, and
- Replacement of central chilled water plant.
The next round of Green Building Fund applications closes on 12 January 2010.
